The Art of Chairmaking
Andrew was commissioned by GMC Books to photograph The Art of Chairmaking, a beautifully crafted book that explores the traditional Windsor chair through the work of expert maker Jason Mosseri.
The project took place over several days, with Andrew documenting Jason’s process in both his workshops and tranquil woodland setting. Each location brought its own atmosphere, but together they offered a complete and honest portrait of a craftsperson deeply connected to his tools, materials, and tradition.
Working with Jason was a genuine pleasure. His quiet focus, respect for the process, and openness made the experience both rewarding and inspiring. Andrew’s approach was rooted in observation—letting the rhythm of the work lead, rather than staging or directing, allowing the story to unfold naturally through the images.
